eboost spruce energizing whole greens packets

Want to get your greens and a caffeine boost, all in one? Check out EBOOST Spruce Energizing Whole Greens.

In each packet, you get 3 servings of veggies and 85 mg caffeine (similar to the caffeine in a cup of coffee). And believe it or not, it tastes good, too!

Keep reading to discover why and how it works.

EBOOST… Spruce?

You’ve probably never heard of it. I only found out about it because I found a sample in a Yogi Surprise box (despite having already reviewed the EBOOST vitamin supplement drink years ago!) and really, really liked it. So I ended up buying a whole jar!

Honestly, I wasn’t going to buy any, because I did some searching for reviews, and there wasn’t much out there. I could not find a single trustworthy EBOOST Spruce review! (Yeah, if you go on Amazon it has a 4.5 star average rating! Which is great, but these days, you have to be highly critical of any Amazon review.)

And it’s not cheap! I didn’t want to take a chance on this at a $39.99 retail price!

So it was too risky – I decided not to make a purchase.

Then I went to Marshall’s one day. As I perused the shelves, one of the displays held a big, 28-serving canister of EBOOST Spruce! That’s the same size that retails for $40. I paid $13 at Marshall’s!

EBOOST Spruce: Health and Nutrition

The foundation of this powder is the five key green vegetables: Spinach, Kale, Broccoli, Asparagus, and Cabbage.

Here are all the ingredients:

Air-Dried Asparagus, Freeze-Dried Broccoli, Air-Dried Cabbage, Freeze-Dried Spinach, Freeze-Dried Kale, Coffeeberry Whole Coffee Fruit Concentrate, Ginger Root Extract.

Other ingredients:
Organic Agave Inulin, Natural Flavors, Malic Acid, Guar Gum, Organiz Stevia, Silica.

Each packet is 50 calories and provides 6g fiber (which is quite a bit!) As mentioned earlier, you’re getting 3 servings of veggies and 85 mg caffeine.

Note: If you get the canister like I did, you need two scoops to get that amount. (2 scoops = 1 packet.)

It’s not really a competitor to Greens Plus since it doesn’t contain a wide variety of greens. But it’s still generally healthy, and maybe a good way to switch things up occasionally, so you’re not taking the same greens supplement every single day.

I prefer the canister because I only need 1 scoop per day. (Half a serving is fine because I also drink coffee and eat vegetables.)

If you don’t eat many vegetables, or you need more caffeine, go with the packets. They’re also more convenient.

EBOOST Spruce: Taste Test

As much as I like my leafy green vegetables, I’ve had enough nasty supplements in the past to make me wary of any green powders.

So I was very, very happy to find out that this green apple ginger flavor drink is delicious! It’s not just good in the sense of greens supplements – it’s just plain good!

one scoop of eboost spruce energizing greens powder

I first mixed it with plain water, and it was so freaking good! Dare I say, it tastes even better than Greens Plus, which has been my “go to” for years!

Since it’s not filled with wheat grass and the like, it doesn’t have that grassy flavor (which numerous people find offensive).

Instead, it’s spicy and fruity, and a tad sweet. There’s a taste of apple, and I’ve tasted notes of pear and pineapple as well (those must come from the “natural flavors”). Top it off with a little zing from the ginger and you have a darn good drink!

If that’s still too green for your liking, you could mix it into juice or a smoothie. Try blending it into a smoothie with bananas, spinach, and raspberries. Or banana, peach, and pineapple.

It apparently works in just about anything. One day I mixed 1 scoop of EBOOST Spruce powder, 8 oz water, and 6 oz carrot juice together, then squeezed half a lemon slice into it, and enjoyed the delightful result! (I don’t recommend copying this recipe verbatim, though – it wasn’t that good.)

I also mixed it into vanilla almond milk one morning (1 scoop powder, 6 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk). It was better than expected and a nice morning treat! The only downside was that the milk was so smooth, it felt like it left a slightly gritty aftertaste. It’s not that it was gritty or unpleasant, but the smooth, creaminess of the milk really amplified the graininess of the powder.

In the end, I think it’s best mixed with plain water – because it actually tastes good all on its own!

And there’s an energy boost!

Imagine the high you’d get from all of the nutrients and antioxidants PLUS the caffeine buzz of a cup of coffee! Whoa!

Yeah – it’s a pretty intense and long-lasting energy boost!

Just remember to have this at lunch time (or at least, earlier in the day). It’s not a bedtime snack!

I like to have it around 1 or 2 pm. It prevents that mid-afternoon slump and keeps you energized for a late afternoon workout. (Speaking of which, it makes an excellent pre-workout drink.)

If I have it at 5 pm, I’ll be up wide awake past midnight! (And that’s even with one scoop, which is only about 42 mg caffeine.)

I can even count on it to pull me out of a rut.

Case in point, one day I didn’t sleep well. Strong coffee in the morning was not enough. I was dragging (and completely unproductive). I finished my coffee and had lunch, and nothing changed.

So at 1 pm, after lunch, I had a single serving of EBOOST Spruce in plain water. Fifteen minutes later, I was feeling fantastic!!

The energy boost is most similar to the Voke tabs, where it’s a rather strong and potent energy boost, but not so intense that your head spins. Each Voke tab contains 77 mg caffeine along with some other greens and berries, so the ingredients are somewhat similar, too.

My final verdict is…

EBOOST Spruce tastes delightful, provides a tremendous energy boost, and it seems like the ingredients are of good quality. I highly recommend it (with two caveats)!

First, it is expensive upfront, so make sure you can budget for this supplement in addition to good whole foods. Second, you have to want to combine your greens supplement with an energy supplement (i.e. if you take your greens at night, this isn’t for you).
