eboost packets

For some people, convenience and portability are the most important factors when choosing an energy drink. If that sounds like you, take a look at EBOOST.

EBOOST is called a “daily vitamin supplement” and “daily health booster” and probably other things with a similar meaning. It’s like a powdered vitamin supplement + powdered energy drink (sort of like Emergen-C).

You can get it in in packets and tablet form (I tested the packets). You just add water and like magic, you have a vitamin-packed energy drink.

EBOOST Taste Test

eboost orange

I tried two flavors, the standard Orange, and their new Pink Lemonade flavor. Here’s what I think…

Orange – The orange flavor tastes great, no doubt about it! It is A LOT like orange soda! It has that carbonated texture yet maintains a creamy flavor. It’s very smooth, not grainy or powdery at all. (A nice accomplishment for any powdered drink.)

It’s a strong flavor and can easily be mixed with 8-10oz water and still taste great. Sometimes these powders are only good for 4-6oz, but you can mix enough of this stuff to enjoy it.

There might be a very slight hint of vitamin C pill taste in this, though. I just barely noticed it, and it didn’t bother me at all, so it’s nothing to worry about (unless you’re an orange soda connoisseur).

All in all, this orange EBOOST was one of the best powdered supplement flavors I’ve had.

Pink Lemonade – After trying the orange flavor, this was a shocker!

eboost pink lemonade

This pink lemonade flavor was strong and sour! “Tart” would not do this justice. It was like taking a slice of pink grapefruit, squeezing some fresh lemon juice onto it, and then putting it in your mouth and sucking the juice out.

I would call this “pink lemon” instead, because lemonade is usually pretty sweet. I’d only recommend this flavor if you enjoy eating pink grapefruit. For anyone else, the flavor might be a little too natural tasting.

Talk about a stark contrast to the sweet orange soda taste of the orange flavor!

Although, with each subsequent use, the flavor became less sour and more natural. After three times, I got used to it. But still, it was a little too sour for me to want to drink it every day.

I could drink it every day if I wanted to, but it wasn’t as appealing as the orange flavor.

The instructions say to “dump one packet into 8 ounces of water and allow to effervesce.” And that’s exactly what happens.

EBOOST seems to take 10-20 seconds to effervesce, but boy does it effervesce! (Stick your nose down there, you’ll feel a lot of bubbles!)

The 10 seconds it takes for EBOOST to mix is a lot faster than any drink that needs stirred or shaken. Overall, mixing is fast and easy as can be.

Here’s a quick video just to demonstrate the mixing process:

EBOOST Health and Nutrition

Now on to the important stuff…

Here is what each packet of EBOOST contains:

Calories – 5
Total carbs – 1 g
Sugars – 0 g
Vitamin C – 1000 mg
Niacin – 15 mg
Vitamin B6 – 2 mg
Folate (folic acid) – 200 mcg
Vitamin B12 – 2500 mcg
Zinc – 7.5 mg
Selenium – 100 mcg
Copper – 1 mg
Chromium – 120 mcg
Potassium – 500 mg

EBOOST Blend – 1050 mg
Green tea leaf extract, glucuronolactone, 5-HTP (from Griffonia simplicifolia seed extract), Huperzine-A, vinpocetine, Astragalus membranaceus root extract, and grape seed extract.

Other Ingredients: Citric acid, maltodextrin, potassium bicarbonate, potassium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, natural flavors, potassium citrate, beta carotene color, beet color, silica, neotame, sucralose.

* Ingredients listed were for Orange. The Orange flavor contains sucralose, while the Pink Lemonade uses Stevia Leaf Extract for the sweetener. Otherwise, everything is nearly identical.

As far as the vitamins and minerals go, EBOOST has about everything you could ask for. It contains a few minerals not found in Emergen-C, but Emergen-C contains a few minerals not found in EBOOST, so there is a trade-off, but a small one.

The coolest stuff is in the EBOOST blend. The green tea leaf extract and the grape seed extract are great, but the other ingredients (with hard-to-pronounce names) are even cooler. Each has cool, exotic health benefits.

I don’t know if you’ll actually notice the benefits of those cool ingredients, but it’s fun to read about them. Take Vinpocetine for example – it is reported to have cerebral blood-flow enhancing and neuroprotective effects, to keep your memory sharp!

The Boost from EBOOST

Did I mention the energy boost? Yes, there really is an energy boost with this stuff.

The first time you try it, at least. My first EBOOST packet resulted in a big energy boost, but afterward, each packet brought only a slight boost. (This happens with a lot of energy drinks.)

It’s one of the those boosts that is very slight, with improved mental clarity, but nothing like a sugar or caffeine rush. There is no crash as you wear down, though.

Final Complaints

Other than the orange flavor containing sucralose and the pink lemonade being too sour for me, I have one final issue – the price.

You can get 24 orange packets for $24, or 20 pink lemonade packets for $28. That’s $1 to $1.40 per packet.

In contrast, I usually get a box of Emergen-C for $9, which is $0.25 per packet.

If you can afford EBOOST and you like it, go for it. But the price difference is pretty huge for something you use 1-2 times every day.

My final verdict is…

All in all, I like EBOOST. It has a good taste and some good ingredients, plus a little energy boost.

I’m at an impasse with this though. The orange flavor was awesome, but I try to avoid sucralose (and any other artificial sweetener). The pink lemonade was too sour for me, but I like that it had stevia, a natural sweetener.

It’s certainly worth trying, but at the current prices, I can’t see myself buying much of this stuff.

  1. I am an avid cyclist and also teach spinning at Equinox gyms in Socal doing anywhere from 2-3 classes a day. I was introduced to EBOOST Orange initially and usually dont take any energy products but usually just electrolyte replacements. What I absolutely love about EBOOST is the taste, the healthy and sustained lift of energy and the amazing electrolyte replacement with over 500mg of potassium, 1000 mg of vitamin C and 2500 mcg of b12 i feel properly hydrated and refreshed.
EBOOST is hands down one of my favorite products and i cant imagine riding without out. My wife has tried the Pink Lemonade and loves it, i did enjoy it but still prefer Orange.

  2. I started taking the orange last year and when i found out they launched a Pink Lemonade associated with National Breast Cancer i was hooked. I really enjoy the Pink Lemonade taste and dont find it tart but more rich in taste and no after taste, i also love putting a few ice cubes in my glass and it is super refreshing.
I take EBOOST every single day when i spin and do yoga and the few times i didnt have any i can honestly say i noticed the difference less energy, didnt work out as hard and missed the hydration and recovery.
I highly recommend this product over Emergen-C, FRS, Zippfizz which i have taking all of them and find EBOOST to be hands down the best and the reason to me it is more expensive than Emergen-C because it uses higher amounts of all the key ingredients and much more.
I also find some email discounts they offer to online buyers and currently have 30% using HOLIDAYBOOST at check out.

  3. @Edgar and Kristen

Thanks for sharing your opinions. I’m glad you have found the perfect energy drink/supplement for your needs!

I’m awaiting the day when EBOOST Orange comes with stevia 🙂

  4. DO NOT DRINK EBOOST!!! I used to work for one of the financial backers of the product & he is an awful person. PLEASE do not endorse this product, because if you do you are endorsing a millionaire who treats people lower than dirt & has no regard for anyone but himself!!!

  5. @vf

Unfortunately the finance world is full of awful people who only care about themselves. And even more unfortunately, that type of attitude is also what gets them a lot of money in the first place.

If you wanted, you could find an awful person involved with just about every business relationship out there. I wouldn’t change my opinion of a product due to that though.

  6. @Levis

Eboost Orange is now only sweetened with Stevia so you can go ahead and try it again!
