Let me tell you the best kept secret in nutrition:

It doesn’t matter how much you read about proper nutrition. What matters is that you take action.

Okay – that might not seem like a secret. So how do I know that it is?

Because of the countless new diet books that become best-sellers!

If people were actually taking action and getting fit, losing weight, and eating properly… there would be a sharp dropoff in these book sales. But that’s not happening.

So I have to assume that most people are reading and learning, but not taking action.

It’s not that they don’t want to. Because they certainly do want to.

They might even be motivated.

They just don’t know how to put their knowledge into action in a way that’s sustainable and gets results.

And that’s where a nutrition coach would come in. He or she would help you take action and make progress toward your goals.

So it’s not just taking action – it’s taking the right action.

The best kept secret in nutrition doesn’t even come from nutrition science at all. It’s behavior change.

Yep, we’re talking psychology.

More and more athletes are studying behavior change and change psychology.

It turns out I wasn’t alone. Amateur athletes are taking these types of courses and certification programs (e.g. the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certification) to improve their own athletic performance (not to mention their overall health and well-being).

If you’re a self-coached athlete, take a look.

Other athletes are taking their course. You need to do the same. (Your competitors might be enrolled in this program as we speak!)

According to Precision Nutrition, that’s the latest trend. And you don’t want to get left behind.

It’s not just for coaches.

As a cycling coach, sure, it’s great to have extra credentials like this. But when I first earned the certification, I did it to improve myself.

What really drove me to earn my PN1 certification was professional and personal development. I did it for the sake of getting better.

And that course was well worth it. It covers everything you need, and it’s far more affordable than taking college courses in both food science and behavioral psychology.

(The college courses would be lots of work and lots of money, and maybe 30-40% would apply to you as an athlete.)
