setimoancen bike rack product details

You may have seen the Setimoancen bike rack promoted in your social media feed recently and thought it was a clever idea. That is absolutely not the case, and I’ll tell you why.

The Setimoancen Bike Rack: Another Chinese Knockoff

Chinese knockoffs are everywhere in the bicycle world. Sometimes this can be dangerous, and sometimes it’s just silly.

The Setimoancen bike rack… is silly.

Now sure, when you look at their marketing, it seems like a clever way to store your bike. It’s a tiny plastic rack that holds your bike steady and only takes two screws to install. And your bike just clicks in and out. All for $9.95.

The problem is, that clever idea came from the bicycle accessory company Hornit when they created the world’s smallest bike rack. It’s called the Clug.

The Clug: The Original, Innovative Bike Rack

The Clug is so small and simple, it’s hard to believe it actually works. But it does.

That’s why it’s a Eurobike award-winning product with hundreds of positive customer reviews.

While it’s not right for every situation, it’s a delightful little rack that works in your garage but doesn’t look out of place in your living room!

Here it is in use:

You can hardly even see the rack! It blends in with the wall.

Setimoancen Bike Rack vs The Clug

It’s obvious the knockoff is quite utilitarian, even ugly, while the Clug sports an upscale design.

But just looking at the photos, it’s hard to tell just how bad the knockoff is in terms of functionality.

So here is a video comparison:

This shows just how flimsy and rigid the plastic pieces of the Setimoancen rack are.

When the design depends on the properties of the material used, you can’t change the material in your knockoff!

Suffice to say, the Setimoancen bike rack is useless.

Proper Bicycle Storage

If you need to secure your bicycle at home, don’t just buy the first rack you see.

There are so many styles of racks, each with their own pros and cons.

For instance, while the Clug is relatively cheap and looks great, it can be tricky to get the right size for your tires. And if you regularly swap out your tires based on the conditions, the Clug might not even work for you.
