Transitioning to Cross-Training
Since I haven’t been training too much lately, I’ve decided to enjoy the fall and do whatever sort of training comes my way. I need to throw some running in there, and I figured I might as well get back into Cyclo-Core too.
And in doing so I learned a very important lesson…
That lesson is: Body weight exercises are extremely hard and work all the muscles you don’t work any other time. (Translation: You will be sore for days!)
I have had trouble standing and sitting and even walking lately thanks to a full-on attempt at Cyclo-Core and the heavy dose of hindu squats. What this means for you is that you should ease into whatever off-season program you have coming up. If you haven’t been lazy like I have, you might be OK, but use some caution!
P.S. For those of you without any sort of plan for the off-season, check this out - Graeme Street has great deals on his Cyclo-Core line of DVD workouts. It started out as $60 just for a Cyclo-Core DVD. Yesterday I saw an offer to get Cyclo-Core, Cyclo-Zen, and two workout schedules at just $99 or something. That’s like 60% off!! Now his programs are even in the price range for cheapskates like me!
For more info, check out my reviews of his Core and Zen videos.
