A few days off…
I’ve taken the past two days off, staying in bed most of the day…
Why? Well, not because I’m sick. Not because I’m lazy. Not because I’ve been working out too much.
It’s because of an unexpected wrestling match late Wednesday night!
It was about 10:15 PM and I was relaxing and doing a little reading before going to sleep. (8 am class to look forward to…)
My friend knocks on my door and tells me there’s a wrestling tournament in the basement of the dorm next door! Wow, this doesn’t usually happen here!
So about 10:45 we head over. Just like fight club - some kids hanging out in a small room, out of the way, in the basement. Not much was going on though, so we had to get things started. We had 5 or 6 matches and called it a night. However, a couple matches on a concrete floor can really take a lot out of you! Not to mention that you can’t move the next day.
I could say that I wrecked when I was out riding - I have plenty of “carpet rash” on my legs and face plus some nice bruises on my chest and shoulders. But it’s really the soreness in my sternum and pelvis that keep me in bed!
If there’s one valuable lesson to take away from this, it’s to do all of your full-contact sports during the off-season!
