One of the oldest home remedies for just about any ailment is apple cider vinegar (ACV for short.) Perhaps your grandmother gave some to you when you were a kid. Or maybe you are well versed in alternative medicine and have some ACV everyday.

I’m not sure how true the claims are, since I never used vinegar to cure anything, but here are a few things apple cider vinegar is supposed to cure:

  • Allergies
  • The flu, sore throats, etc.
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Acid reflux
  • High blood pressure
  • And many more (see EarthClinic.com)

Those problems are usually a serious pain and require expensive medication to fix. If a little vinegar can cure them instead, that is freaking awesome!

Unfortunately, vinegar tastes like, well, vinegar. And I hate the taste of vinegar…

But I was lucky enough to get a sample of Body Ami, a sweetened and flavored form of apple cider vinegar. Body Ami consists of concentrated ACV, honey, and flavor.

I got to try the Currant one, which is flavored with black currant juice. Other flavors include acai berry honey, goji berry honey, pomegranate honey, and mangosteen honey. They all sound tempting.

And the price isn’t bad, so I might try them all. A 16oz bottle is $14.95, and you can also try a sampler pack (two 9oz bottles) for $14.95.

Body Ami Taste Test

To start with, you take 1 Tbsp of Body Ami and mix it in 8oz water. Easy. (If you put it in a cup first, then add water, it mixes itself.)

Problem is, as soon as you open the bottle, you’re inundated with the ubiquitous vinegar smell. The smell of vinegar used to make me gag, and even though I don’t mind it so much anymore, I don’t enjoy it.

Luckily, Body Ami doesn’t taste too much like vinegar. I tasted the currant flavor about as much as the vinegar, and the honey sweetens things up. And there’s no aftertaste at all.

But I do try to avoid breathing through my nose while drinking this. If I don’t smell the vinegar, it’s not bad at all.

Now, it did take about three days for me to be able to drink this without hating the vinegar smell and taste. It was bearable. A week after that, I began to enjoy the taste (which surprised me a great deal.)

Body Ami Health Improvements

I only took Body Ami for around two, maybe three weeks. But if you read the many success stories for ACV in general, it works fast, so I was hoping for huge health improvements.

But in my case, there was no noticeable improvement in anything I can think of. That puts Body Ami on the same level as virtually every other supplement I’ve tried.

Perhaps it improved digestion or strengthened my immune system, but that’s hard to say with any certainty. I’ll need to try this stuff over the course of six months or even a year to really see.

But I will say this: if you have any sort of ailment, especially something you can’t seem to get rid of, you should try Body Ami. It might just work!

My final verdict is…

Let’s be honest here – I don’t get excited to drink Body Ami every day. It’s way, way better than plain ACV, but still, you can only do so much to disguise the taste and smell of vinegar.

But if it improves my health, I’ll do whatever it takes to get my daily dose of ACV. So if you like to take ACV, but hate the taste, Body Ami could be a great option for you. (If you still hate the taste, just plug your nose and you should be alright.)
