Saving the Long Rides for Outside

That’s what I’ve been doing. As evidenced by the fact that a 2 hour moderate pace ride wears me out!

The past few days have been great and I’ve done a few on and off road rides. There’s no doubt that I am out of shape, but that’s ok. I’m interested to see how fast I can get back to top form. (The race coming up on the 8th will surely give me an idea of where I’m at now…)

I’ll be doing 4-5 hour rides in no time :)

Out of shape, perhaps…

After a great weekend, I was eagerly awaiting my return to the hills of Pennsylvania for some long rides. As long as the weather remained at 70 degrees, that is!

But upon returning home, I awoke to snow on the ground, and realized I was sick enough that it didn’t matter - I’d be in bed anyway. So I haven’t exercised in over a week. I tried to do some push-ups and about passed out. So yeah, that was it. (I couldn’t even celebrate St. Patty’s Day last night!)

Maybe next week? Hopefully I’m not too out of shape…

Let’s hope the snow is done!

It warmed up over the weekend and looks like things will be hovering around 40 for a while. Sounds good to me!

I got a short run in and rode BMX over the weekend, outside! And my last road ride was 2:15 on the rollers. I only do that once a week so it doesn’t bother me much at all, as long as I have some good music.

I’m planning to have a good season the whole season this year, instead of being burnt out by September. I’m glad I didn’t train too hard inside, because I’m so excited by the sun and relatively warm weather now!

Workouts at Home, Functional Fitness, and Yoga Madness

Those are three of the trends in the active.com article I mentioned yesterday. Sounds good, considering everyone is crunched for time these days and is looking for a good workout in not a lot of time. And avoiding crowded gyms is definitely a plus!

Once I thought about it, I have that those trends taken care of since I have Graeme Street’s programs, Cyclo-Core and Cyclo-Zen. Core is filled with functional workouts while Zen has a few yoga-based workouts. Best of all, you can do them at home in about 30 minutes.

They’re hard though. If you don’t believe me, read the whole review and watch the video: Cyclo-Core review

Food and Fitness Trends, and a cartoon

This article presents some of the latest trends and tells why they matter. I think it does a pretty good job of it. In other words, go check it out. :)

It also reminded me of a cartoon I saw a few days ago. A couple middle-age people are standing at the produce aisle of a supermarket, and one says, “Just think, back when our parents were our age, nothing was organic!”
