What else is new?

Not much, aside from not working out for over a week. That was unintentional - just too much other stuff getting in the way. And being too stressed from dealing with defective computers, camcorders, and more!

But to tell you the truth, I’m happy about the rest. This way I should actually look forward to riding once the weather looks nice. (Last January, I did 400-500 miles inside on the rollers. I was motivated. But once October hit, I was ready to put the bike away for a long long time!)

I’ll probably continue my routine of doing Cyclo-Core, a little running, and a quick ride on the rollers every now and then. And I’ll be riding BMX whenever the weather permits.

I’m In Trouble Now

As I type this entry, I can barely hold my arms up to the keyboard! Why you might ask? Because I just got my hands on the rest of Graeme Street’s programs, Cyclo-Zen and Cyclo-Speed. I haven’t checked out Speed at all, and have only used Zen once.

Using ice

No, not ice, ICE.

It stands for “In Case of Emergency.”

I was just reading about this in Bicycle Retailer. If you carry a cell phone with you on your rides, will anyone know who to contact if you’re in an accident? (it wouldn’t hurt to carry another form of ID, but that’s another story…)

They will if you put “ICE” in your contacts and then have the phone number of a close friend or relative. Supposedly rescue workers and/or paramedics are being trained to look for this. (i.e. if they find you along the road unconscious, they will open up your phone and look for a contact named ICE that they can call.)

It only takes a minute to do - be safe!

Update: This feature is actually being built-in to most new cell phones for 2007 and beyond.

Christmas in July

Today the temps hit about 60 degrees here in the Northeast! What a shock, considering we’re in the heart of winter.

With the mild weather lately, I’ve been able to enjoy a few rides outside. Which means, I’ve been neglecting my off-season training, like Cyclo-Core. So I made sure to get a core workout in today.

Great Riding Updates!

Man do I have some good news!

Thanks to better weather this month than in the fall, I’ve gotten to do a few outdoor rides. Remember, this off-season I decided to focus on cross-training and core exercises instead of riding (indoor or outdoor.)
